Andrew Gaze
After an impressive schoolboy career, Andrew made the transition to the NBL at 18 years of age and averaged 29.1 points per game in his first season. In 1993, Andrew realised one of his lifelong dreams, when he captained the Melbourne Tigers to victory in the NBL Grand Final. In 2000, Andrew was selected to compete in his fifth Olympic Games in Sydney. The highlight of Andrew’s final Olympic campaign was his role as official flag bearer and Captain of the Australian Olympic Team. In 2003, Andrew was named as the Greatest NBL Player over the past 25 years. Andrew retired from professional basketball in 2005.
Andrew demonstrates the true art of possessing an exceptional gift whilst remaining what most would refer to as a “good bloke”. His experiences and journey through a unique sporting career ensure any crowd will walk away enlightened and inspired.
