Luke Darcy
Few players have shown themselves to be as ready for a career in the media while still playing as Network Ten’s Luke Darcy. The one-time Western Bulldogs captain closed the playing chapter of his life in 2007, having played over 200 games for the club his father David represented with distinction in the 1960s.
This former leading ruckman honed his media skills with stints as part of Ten’s AFL coverage and on radio with 3AW. His understanding of the modern game, presentation skills and ability to interact with those on-air alongside him made Darcy a favourite among audiences.
Season 2008 sees Darcy take up a permanent place on the other side of the fence, stepping up his match day role with Ten. He will also take on a greater role in radio with SEN1116′s AFL team.
