Simon O’Donnell

Simon’s sporting background is more diverse than most. Honing his sporting ability in both cricket and football at Assumption College, O’Donnell was one of few who faced the enviable but gruelling decision of choosing one or the other as a career.

Simon pursued and succeeded in the game of cricket playing in the winning World Cup Team in 1987. Retiring after the 1992/93 season, Simon turned a lifelong passion for thoroughbred horse racing into a thriving horse purchase and management company, the root of numerous successes on track.

Host of all racing telecasts and most of the cricket commentary with the Nine network, his extensive media experience continues to flourish thanks to an astounding knowledge of some of the countries most popular sports. His personable manner and genuine “good bloke” status makes him a valued addition to any event.
